2016 Dinners -- updated April 26, 2016
Due to bad weather or a lack of ramps, some dinners have been canceled or had date changes in the past. So please contact them if you are traveling a long distance.
March 19. A Fancy Ramp Dinner. 6:00 p.m. I'm not sure this dinner will benefit a charity this year but it is using locally produced food. For the menu, click here. $35 per person. Tickets sold in advance only. Call 304-473-7741 to order tickets.
April 16. 2:00 p.m. or until the food runs out. Adults, $15, Children under 10, $5.
April 16. 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Glady Church of the Brethren. The menu will consist of ramps, ham, cornbread, beans, potatoes, rolls, desserts and drinks. For more information call Pastor David Moore at 304-704-4079 or 304-704-2385.
April 16. 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Nestorville Community Building off Rt. 38. $12 adult, $6 under 12. Funds go to Kasson 8th grade school trip.
April 16. Noon - 5:00 p.m. Union Community Building in Philippi. The menu will consist of ramps, ham, fried potatoes with or without ramps, white or brown beans, applesauce, cornbread, dessert and drink. Shortline Ramp Festival, Pine Grove, WV
April 16. Byrd Center and Park. Last year's info. 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Activities include a Ramp Taste Off, flea market, vendors and craft bazaar. 5K run/walk registration at 8:00 a.m. Run starts at 9:00 a.m. At 11:00 a.m. we will have the welcome by Grand Marshall Roy Justice, singing of the National Anthem and raising of the flag. At 11:15 a.m. there will be a Blessing of the Bikes. At 11:15 a.m. the kids area, food and vendor booths will also open. Voting will begin for the Ramp Taste Off. At 12:30 p.m. there will be a ramp eating contest. At 1:00 p.m. the horseshoe tournament starts. At 2:00 p.m. voting ends for the taste off. There is also a large kids area with games and prizes, face painting, and an inflatable bounce house and inflatable obstacle course. There will be crafters, vendors and a flea market. Starting at 11:15 a.m. we will also have a ramp dinner by the Shortline Food Bank (not the Fire Dept as we originally thought). The menu is ham, mashed potatoes with ramps and gravy, green beans with ramps, cole slaw, roll, dessert (choice of with or without ramps) and a drink for $8. Follow us on facebook for updates!

Camp Creek Lumberjack Competition and Ramp Feast, Camp Creek, WV
April 23. 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Camp Creek State Park, 2390 Co Highway 19/5 (two miles off I-77 at exit 20). It's springtime! Time to get outside.
8:30 a.m. Bibbee Nature Club Lead Flower & Bird Walk (2 hours). Lead by members of hte Bibbee Nature Club. Open to the public at no charge.

Stink Fest, Huntington, WV
April 23. 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Wild Ramp is pleased to announce that the Stink Fest, will take place at its Old Central City location (555 14th Street). The Wild Ramp is a year-round community-supported market that provides a viable economic outlet for local food producers while providing consumers access to locally grown agricultural products.
Feast on this iconic spring plant that is our market’s namesake. Free and open to the public! Food vendors featuring ramp dish specialties, music, best ramp dish cook off and activities for the kids. Annual Feast of the Ramson, Richwood, WV
April 23. Richwood High School. Richwood's "Feast of the Ramson" has been described as "the granddaddy of ALL Appalachian Ramp Feeds." Mt Grove is on Rt 219 between Oakland, Maryland and Thomas, WV. As you look at a map, find where Maryland's southwestern tip fits into WV. That's about where we are. Watch for the signs. From Redhouse MD, take Rt. 219 south for approximately 8 miles to Mount Grove. From Thomas WV, take Rt. 219 north for approximately 4 miles to Mount Grove.
27th Annual Ramp Dinner, Springfield, WV
May 1. Starts at noon. The Springfield Valley VFD, will have a ramp dinner at the Springfield Fire Hall on Springfield Grade Road. Noon until the food is gone. Menu: Meatloaf, Ham, Fried Potatoes with and without eggs, Brown Beans, White Beans, Corn Muffins, Salad, Raw and Sauted Ramps, and yes we even have cake. Everything served with and without ramps. Will be held at the Mount Clare Volunteer Fire Department and will benefit the South Harrison High School Wrestling Team. $15 for all you can eat, $5 for children under 10. Eat in or take out will be available. Menu includes but not limited to ramps, ham, beans, cornbread, salad, eggs, potatoes and dessert.
May 8. 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Bayard Volunteer Fire Department Annual Ramp Dinner. All you can eat! $8 Adults, $6 kids 7 to 12, under 6 free. Raw ramps, ham, beans, corn bread, ramp salad, stewed ramps, fried potatoes with and without ramps, desserts and drink.
May 21. 4:00 - 7:00 p.m Jenkins Chapel Annual Ramp Dinner, 1651 Jenkins Hollow Road. From 259 South, take Howards Lick Road to Jenkins Hollow. For more information, contact the Hardy County CVB at 304-897-8700.
