April 27. 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. The Wild Ramp is pleased to announce that the market's annual StinkFest, will take place at its Old Central City location (555 14th Street). StinkFest is the celebration of our namesake Allium tricoccum, commonly known as a ramp or wild leek. While ramps are known for their pungent flavor and strong lingering smell when eaten, they were also a critical part of early mountain settlers’ diets. Like many Appalachian traditions, eating ramps was a necessity developed out of the need to gain essential vitamins after a long winter of eating preserved foods. Today we celebrate this slice of Appalachian heritage with a ramp-infused food festival, artisan fair, and live acts from local musicians.

The Wild Ramp is a year-round community-supported market that provides a viable economic outlet for local food producers while providing consumers access to locally grown agricultural products.
