2014 Dinners -- updated April 13, 2014
Due to bad weather or a lack of ramps, some dinners have been canceled or had date changes in the past. So please contact them if you are traveling a long distance.
Sadly, I received word that the Washington Bottom Dinner will not be held this year.
Also, I have learned that Faith Gospel Church in Parkersburg will not be having a dinner this year.
March 29. A Fancy Ramp Dinner: Celebrating Spring Tonics in Appalachia. 6:00 p.m. A Benefit for the New Appalachian Farm & Research Center is sponsored by Fish Hawk Acres. They are a 501 (c) 3 non profit whose mission is to support the agricultural community's efforts of building a local food system for West Virginia. $35 per person. For the menu, click here. Buckhannon Eagles 4357, Buckhannon, WV
April 5. Noon until the food runs out. The annual ramp dinner at the Buckhannon Eagles Club will be held at the club on West Virginia Route 20 North. There is a charge of $12 for all you can eat. The menu will consist of ramps, raw, cooked, and deep fried, white or brown beans, ham, cornbread, fried potatoes with and without ramps, applesauce, and pickled eggs. April 12. 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Orgas Community Center. Menu includes ramps, scrambled eggs, ham, biscuits, fried potatoes, pinto beans, cornbread, and various desserts. Sponsored by Sylvester Full Gospel Lighthouse. For info call 304-854-1637.
April 12. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Broadway Church of Nazarene Activity Hall, 901 Broadway Ave., south Parkersburg. The dinner is a fundraiser for mission work. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children.
April 12. Noon to 5 p.m. Union Community Building in Philippi. The menu will consist of ramps, ham, fried potatoes with or without ramps, brown or white beans, cornbread, applesauce, dessert and drink. The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.
April 19. 2 p.m. to ??. A family style ramp dinner at the South Fork Grange, 15 miles south of Pennsboro. The cost is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12 yrs. The menu includes ramps, corn bread, soup beans, fried taters, desserts, ramp salad, and beverages.
April 19. Pickens Ramp Supper. Last year's info: 2:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. American Legion Hall. Ramps, ham, cornbread, beans, fried potatoes, applesauce, cole slaw, and dessert. Sponsored by Pickens Post 122 American Legion. $12 for adults, $5 for children under 12. 304-924-5813.
Bruceton Mills, WV
April 26. Noon to 6 p.m. $10. Bruceton Mills VFW Post 2523 Ramp Dinner. Donations $7.00 Adult, $4.00 Kids. "Unwavering support for uncommon heroes". Menu includes fried potatoes with and without ramps, stewed ramps, beans with ham, cornbread, rolls, coleslaw, applesauce, cake, coffee and tea. Take out available.
Camp Caesar Ramp Dinner, Camp Caesar, WV

Fourth Annual Ramp Dinner, Colliers, WV
April 26. 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fourth year for this dinner in northern panhandle! Olde St John's Episcopal Church at the intersection of St John's Rd and Eldersville Rd. (Rt. 27). We will have Ramps with Bacon and Potatoes, Beans and Corn Bread. Additions to that will be Ham, Hot Dogs, Ramp Dogs, and Ramp and Sausage Sandwichs with sweet onion and mustard grain marmalade. We will have drinks and desserts as well and hopefully a few raffle baskets. We are a very small, beautiful church, over 200 hundred years old. 6th Annual Ramp & Rails Festival, Elkins, WV
April 26. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 315 Railroad Avenue in the Town Square next to the Elkins Depot. There will be various food and craft vendors, and live music throughout the day. Attendees to the festival can vote on their favorite ramp dish. The Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad will be running two one-hour train rides at 12:30pm and 3:00pm. Tickets are $10 and reservations are highly recommended. You can make reservations by calling their office at 1-877-686-7245. Helvetia Ramp Dinner, Helvetia, WV
April 26. 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or when the food is gone. Enjoy ramps, ham, fried potatoes, soup beans, coleslaw, applesauce, and cornbread with desserts and beverages. A square dance with music by the Helvetia Star Band follows at 9:00.
76th Annual Feast of the Ramson, Richwood, WV
April 26. 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Richwood High School. West Virginia's oldest Ramp Feed. 76 years! Last year's info. There will be live music, entertainment, an Art and Craft Show (in the Red Gym and the High School Gym 9:30 A.M.to 4:00 P.M.), ramp dinner, and Our Second Annual Ramp Recipe Contest! Mt Grove is on Rt 219 between Oakland, Maryland and Thomas, WV. As you look at a map, find where Maryland's southwestern tip fits into WV. That's about where we are. Watch for the signs. From Redhouse MD, take Rt. 219 south for approximately 8 miles to Mount Grove. From Thomas WV, take Rt. 219 north for approximately 4 miles to Mount Grove.

Directions: Traveling from Clarksburg, continue west on Rt. 50 to Wilsonburg exit, continue down road, bear right, then at stop sign turn left. Continue on until you see a Reynoldsville sign. Continue on about another three miles. VFD sets on the left.
